Take-home clay kits are designed for you to make something at home to be fired in our studio and returned to you later. Both kiln firings and clear glaze are included in your purchase.*
- Choose how much clay you want included in your clay kit: 1, 2, 3, or 5 lbs. You can purchase more by adding multiple clay kits to your cart and choosing "no tools."
- Choose whether you want all tools or clay only. Tools include: pottery sponge for smoothing and hydrating clay, flexible metal rib and wooden rib for smoothing, needle tool for carving, scoring, and cutting, wooden tool for sculpting and smoothing, two loop tools for carving, wire tool for cutting clay, and two paint brushes.
- After purchasing your clay kit, find the underglaze listing and add any underglaze paints you'll need to your cart.
*Please allow up to eight weeks from the time you drop off your work for it to be bisque fired, clear glazed, fired again, and returned to you.
Take-home clay kits are available for local pick up only. We will not ship clay kits.

To return your finished work to the studio to be fired, you will need to schedule drop-off at sunparlorstudio.com/pickup-dropoff
Once you've booked dropoff, be sure to transport it safely. You can bring your work to us at any stage of dryness, but we will not fire it until it is fully dry.

I bought 3 pounds of clay to make mugs for Christmas gifts. I had PLENTY of clay to make two full size mugs and one espresso mug. It was great to do this on my own time and paint more detailed designs than I would have time for in a class. Taking previous clay classes really helped me understand how wet/dry I needed the clay too. Thank you Megan for providing this! I can't wait to see how mine turn out.
