At Sun Parlor Studio, we offer pottery classes in a variety of formats, from wheel-throwing to handbuilding, private lessons to small group classes, one-time workshops to series courses. Our goal is to provide a welcoming, inclusive space where students can learn new skills and leave feeling accomplished and proud of their work.
small group classes
Small group classes occur on set dates and times and are open to the public for enrollment. These classes are project or theme-specific, beginner-friendly, and handbuilding only. Series courses and one-time workshops available. Located in our garage studio. New group classes are posted periodically.
private lessons
Private pottery lessons are perfect for those with busy schedules or seeking personalized instruction. We offer both handbuilding and wheel throwing lessons for one or two students at a time in our cozy sunroom studio. Private classes are fully customizable and beginner-friendly. Series courses and one-time workshops available by appointment.
private parties & events
Private pottery parties are perfect for birthdays, bachelorette parties, or team building! We'll guide you and your group in creating your own pottery pieces. We can accommodate up to 8 students and tailor the experience to your preferences. We provide all materials and equipment to make your own unique and functional handbuilt ceramics. Let's chat to arrange a custom pottery class for your private party or event!
wheel throwing
Wheel throwing classes are offered in the form of private lessons for one or two students at a time only. Classes are booked by appointment and located in our sunroom studio. Both one-time workshops and series courses are available.
handbuilding
Handbuilding in pottery refers to creating pottery using your hands and simple tools instead of the wheel. We offer handbuilding classes in both small group and private lesson formats, suitable for all skill levels. One-time workshops and series courses available.
workshops & series courses
Whether you're looking to try pottery once or learn the process in depth, we have what you need! We offer a wide varitey of one-time workshops for wheel throwing (private lessons only) and handbuilding. Series courses involve multiple sessions, are more immersive, and allow you to make ceramic works from start to finish. We offer a limited number of spots in group handbuilding courses each Spring, Summer, and Fall, but private courses in both wheel throwing and handbuilding can be booked by appointment all year long.
