Service Description

Each week you will learn to make a new functional ceramic object out of clay! The final week you will glaze everything you made over the course of the month. Week 1: Slab built mugs Week 2: Pinch & coil built bowls Week 3: Freestyle your own project or choose from options such as: slab-built planter, slab-built taper candle holder, slab-built trinket dish, or pinch pot vase Week 4: Glazing Please note, this class takes place in a non-climate-controlled detached garage, so dress accordingly. Join us for a fun and creative pottery course where you can get your hands dirty and create your own unique ceramic works! This in-person class will take place at Sun Parlor Studio in Cleveland's Old Brooklyn neighborhood. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced potter, this course is perfect for everyone. Your instructor will guide you through the process, from molding the clay to glazing. When your work is complete it will be kiln-fired and you will be notified when it is ready for pick up.

Megan Young

I have been teaching pottery and visual arts to all ages since 2018 at studios across Northeast Ohio, including the Beck Center for the Arts, Orange Art Center, and Near West Intergenerational School. I believe in the importance of fostering a fun and welcoming studio environment for students of all levels and degrees of experience. We'll most likely listen to some music and chat about life while we work.
