  • 64 US dollars

Service Description

A fun Saturday morning class for kids to make their own handbuilt ceramic creations! Kids will create a pinch pot out of clay, which they can turn into an animal, cup, or bowl. Then they will paint it with underglaze. Some time will be allowed for kids to experiment and come up with their own creations. I will clear glaze their work for them and contact you when it is fired and ready for pick up. Please note that this class is for kids only. Caregivers may come see the space and get kids settled, but are expected to leave during class and be back for pick up at 11:30 AM. Rest assured that your instructor, Megan Young, is an experienced instructor and won't need help managing the chaos of a kids class! Megan teaches K-8 art at the Near West Intergenerational School in Ohio City, and has over 6 years of experience teaching kids of all ages and stages. Please email with any questions or concerns you may have. Please note, this class takes place in a non-climate-controlled detached garage, so dress accordingly. Nearby attractions include: Six Shooter Coffee The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Henritze Park Loew Park Old Brooklyn Cheese Company Honey Hut Ice Cream Dina's Pizza and Pub Jack Frost Donuts

Megan Young

I have been teaching pottery and visual arts to all ages since 2018 at studios across Northeast Ohio, including the Beck Center for the Arts, Orange Art Center, and Near West Intergenerational School. I believe in the importance of fostering a fun and welcoming studio environment for students of all levels and degrees of experience. We'll most likely listen to some music and chat about life while we work.
